The FSMD0603 series provides miniature surface mount resettable overcurrent protection with holding current from 100mA to 500mA.
This world’s smallest PTC is suitable for ultra portable applications where space is at a premium and the device current is low.
Vmax=Maximum voltage device can withstand without damage at rated current (Imax).
Imax=Maximum fault current device can withstand without damage at rated voltage (Imax).
Ihold=Hold Current: Maximum current device will sustain for 4 hours without tripping in 25oC still air.
Itrip=Trip Current: minimum current at which the device will trip in 25oC still air.
Pd=Power dissipated from device when in the tripped state at 25oC still air.
Ri=Minimum/Maximum resistance of device in initial (un-soldered) state.
R1max=Maximum resistance of device at 25oC measured one hour after tripping.
Caution=operation beyond specified ratings may result in damage and possible arcing and flame.
Most products are packed in Tape and Reel according to EIA-481-1 standard. Carton and foam are used for outer packing to support long distance transportation.
The self-recovery fuse is composed of specially treated Polymer resin and conductive particles (Carbon Black) distributed in it.Under normal
operation, the polymer resin tightly bound the conductive particles outside the crystalline structure to form a chain-like conductive electrical path.
At this time, the recoverable fuse is in the state of low resistance (A), and the thermal energy generated by the current flowing through the self-
recovering fuse on the line is small and will not change the crystal structure.When the circuit is short-circuited or overloaded, the heat generated
by the large current flowing through the self-recovery fuse melts the polymer resin, and the volume grows rapidly, forming a high resistance state
(B), and the working current decreases rapidly, thereby limiting and protecting the circuit.When the fault is removed, PTC can restore the fuse
cooling crystallization, volume contraction, conductive particles to form a conductive path, the recovery fuse to restore low resistance state, so as
to complete the protection of the circuit, without manual replacement.
