Application 

Intelligent power-free PTC thermistors are used as preheating components for electronic ballasts and energy-saving lamps, which can greatly increase the switching times and service life of the lamp, and at the same time overcome the common PTC thermistor’s use in electronic ballasts and energy-saving lamps. After preheating, it has the disadvantages of temperature rise and power consumption, which improves the luminous flux, lumens and luminous efficiency of the lamp. Since there is no current passing through the PTC element during operation, no heat is generated, which is conducive to the stable operation of energy-saving lamps and electronic ballasts and a longer life.

 

Application Principle 
The intelligent power-free PTC thermistor is an intelligent component with composite functions, which is a combination of a varistor and a PTC thermistor. Taking advantage of the characteristics of high lamp starting voltage and low working voltage, a varistor with a working voltage higher than that of the lamp and lower than the starting voltage of the lamp is selected. When the lamp is started, the varistor is turned on and the current passes through the PTC element. The resistance value changes drastically and the lamp is lit. After the lamp is lit, the voltage drops to the normal working voltage. At this time, the varistor is turned off and no current passes through, so as to achieve the goal of zero power for the intelligent component.
